PRA U USM Sesi 2019/2020
Assalamualaikum w.b.t dan salam sejahtera saya ucapkan kpd sesiapa yang sedang membaca blog ini. Tujuan saya buat blog ni sbb saya nak share pengalaman saya di Kolej MARA Kulim. Saya nk share sikit dulu intro diri saya. 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
SECTION I; PERSONAL INTRODUCTION
Saya bukan first intake pra u usm sesi 2019/2020 (third intake actually). Saya asalnya dapat tawaran UPU untuk sambung dekat UiTM Dengkil dalam program Asasi Sains.
Masa tu x silap saya masa pertengahan bulan 5 camtu. Lepas 2 minggu duduk kat UiTM Dengkil, tiba2 saya dapat mesej yang saya dapat tawaran YTP Pra U USM. Masa tu saya mmng xtau nk buat apa dah. Saya screenshot message yang saya dapat pastu post kat whatsapp status saya menyatakan "Please help me"😟😟😟😟😟. Alhamdulillah cikgu biologi saya masa kat MRSM FELDA nampak whatsapp staus saya pastu cikgu ada share sikit pasal Pra U USM dgn kaunselor/homeroom saya pun ada share sikit pasal program ni. Habis2 bincang dgn semua orang(including my parents and my siblings), saya decide utk keluar from UiTM and masuk program YTP USM. Tujuan saya ambik program ni sbb;
1. Bukan semua org boleh masuk program ni. Masa batch saya, syarat utk masuk program ni sekurang-kurangnya 9A (A- dikira sebagai A). Jadi mmng sapa masuk program ni semua budak2 pandai.
2. Parents mampu menampung segala proses utk keluar UiTM dan daftar program PRA U USM. Fyi, rumah saya kat klang and mmng jauhlah kan from klang to kulim. Pastu nk proses keluar UiTM ni mmng penat giler. Kena pegi librarylah, officelah, jumpa dekanlah etc. Parents saya mmng ckp dari awal apa decision yg saya buat, diorang akan ikut je. So, actually kalau parents saya x mampu, mmng saya stay je kat UiTM Dengkil. Alhamdulillah parents saya mmng masih lagi mampu utk menguruskan segala proses💪💪💪💪💪💪
3. Competition lagi sikit. UiTM Dengkil Asasi Sains serius ramai giler kalau nk banding dgn pra u usm. Pra U USM ni masa batch saya dalam 240 something. Kalau UiTM Dengkil, mmng cecah 800 pun ada untuk asasi sains. Total saya rasa lagi ramai sbb Dengkil ada 4 program sains, kejuruteraan, tesl dgn law. 😂😂😂😂😂. Tapi tulah saya x dpt medic kat USM.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.
4. X perlu risau pasal kewangan. Macam saya mention, program PRA U USM ni mmng program tajaan MARA under Young Talent Programme (YTP)/ Program Pembangunan Bakat Muda. Awak cuma perlu bayar yuran kolej shj. Total program ni is around only RM 1000+ something(x sure tentang yuran tapi saya tau yg pra u usm ni lagi murah drpd uitm dengkil). And kat Kolej MARA Kulim (KMKu), semua student kat sini akan dpt elaun RM100 setiap bulan x kisahlah family mana ko dtg pun. Makan mmng sehari 5 kali makan dan PERCUMA 👍👍👍👍 (breakfast, break, lunch, dinner dgn supper).
Ada satu lagi reason knp saya ambik program Pra U USM ni tapi reason ni mmng panjang sikit and more personal actually. Kalau nk tau, contact je melalui instagram saya (zahin36 Mohamad Zahin Hafiz). Moving on to section 2 which you all want to know, what we learn in this pra u usm and what makes it special than other pre university programmes in malaysia.
SECTION II; What we learn in PRA U USM.
*For my batch which is 2019/2020, all students in pra-u usm programme will learn 5 subjects in each semester (1 & 2) which are;
Semester 1: Biology I, Physics I, Chemistry I, English I, Mathematics I and **Pengajian Islam I
Semester II : Biology II, Physics II, Chemistry II, English II, Mathematics II and **Pengajian Islam II
*Starting 2020/2021 batch, the syllabus will be different based on what the lecturers has mentioned to us. So the details that i mentioned below is only applicable for my batch including the assessments conducted.
**Pengajian Islam is not included in our results, all we did was only attend lectures only. That's all. Don't be shocked if during pengajian islam class, some students will not be there😂😂😂😂😂😂.
1. Biology I and II;
- What i can say is that for biology, the syllabus is actually similar to matriculation and only a few topics is taken from STPM syllabus. The textbook used is still the Campbell Biology textbook.
- In Semester II, we have to do a mini thesis similar to FYP, but muck more simpler, we will learn how to write a research proposal and learn how to interpret results. This mini thesis is what makes PRA-U USM speacial👍👍👍👍👍.
2. Physics I and II;
- This one, they follow exactly the same as matriculation syllabus. Based on my experience, the lecture notes and exercises provided by the lecturers is more than enough to get A. No need textbook like biology.
3. Mathematics I and II
- Same as biology.
- Based on my experience, just do a lot of exercises and ask the lecturer if you do not understand how to do it. The lecturers are really great. No need textbook.
4. English I and II
- Semester I is MUET format while for semester II is IELTS format + Other Things (Creating Poster, Poster Presentation, Story Review, Resume, Mini Research😁😁😁 and Mock Interview). This is also one of the special features of Pra U USM programme.
5. Pengajian Islam I and II
- Don't know much since it's not included in our pointer😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
SECTION III; Experience in Kolej MARA Kulim.
As you all know, during my batch (2019/2020), there are 4 programmes in this college which are Pra U USM, UMK-MARA Foundation Programme, Matriculation Programme (Science) and UniKL FIST. But in 2020/2021, the programmes are changed which are Pra U USM (Life Science/Physical Science), MARA College FIS programme, UniKL FIS (YTP) and Matriculation Programme (Science). Let me share with you all pictures from my days in Kolej MARA Kulim.
Ni tempat study area tingkat dua. Saya kat sini sbb ada kena buat mini thesis. Kalau x, dah lama saya duduk dalam bilik je. HAHAHAHA
